CITY HALL REMAINS OPEN DURING THE LUNCH HOUR…
The City Clerk is responsible for maintaining records of the City Council proceedings and records of the various City departments as outlined in NRS 266.480. The professional staff in the City Clerk’s office handles a variety of services to meet the needs of the public. The services include: the issuance of business, liquor and gaming licenses; assistance with the Building Inspector’s office; answering utility billing questions and receiving utility payments; conducting City elections in conjunction with the Humboldt County Clerk’s office according to NRS 293C; handling questions and scheduling for recreation in the community; receiving Golf Course fees; maintaining City resolutions and ordinances (Winnemucca Municipal Code); and, many other duties on a daily basis. The duties of the City Treasurer as outlined by NRS 266.500 include responsibilities for payroll, accounts payable, general ledger fund accounting, capital assets and depreciation, investments, certain aspects of Human Resources, audits, budgets and special projects as required.
